In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the Ridge Review interviewed two long standing couples on campus: Juniors, Matthew Montano and Caitlin Brogan and the Rosinbums. We asked each half of the couple questions revealing how well they actually know each other.

Matthew Montano’s Responses

How long have you been together?

4 ½ years.

How did you meet?

We were in the same class.

What was your first date?

We went to the movies and saw the Croods.

What is your favorite band?

I don’t have one.

What is your partner’s favorite band?

She doesn’t have one.  

What is your secret talent?

I can hacky sack.

What is your partner’s secret talent?

I don’t know.

When is your birthday?

January 27th.

When is your partner’s birthday?

December 22nd.

What bad habit annoys you the most?

Her room isn’t clean.

What bad habit annoys your partner the most?

I fidget.

What is the strongest aspect of your relationship?

We collaborate well.

Caitlin Brogan’s Responses

How long have you been together?

4, almost 5 years.

How did you meet?

We sat at the same table in sixth grade.

What was your first date?

We went to the Croods movie in 2013.  

What is your favorite band?

I don’t have one.

What is your partner’s favorite band?

He doesn’t have one.  

What is your secret talent?

I can scream for a really long time.

What is your partner’s secret talent?

He has stretchy skin.  

When is your birthday?

December 22nd.

When is your partner’s birthday?

January 27th.

What bad habit annoys you the most?

He fidgets.

What bad habit annoys your partner the most?

I get stressed out.

What is the strongest aspect of your relationship?

Our friendship.

Mr. Rosinbum’s Responses

How long have you been together?

We have been dating for almost six years. First date was March 20, 2012. We were married March 24, 2013

How did you meet?

We met at an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) club meeting through Mountain Ridge

What was your first date?

Mini-golf. She won.

What is your favorite band?

Well…..I don’t really listen to much music. Maybe Hillsong United?

What is your partner’s favorite band?

No idea. Maybe Hillsong United, too?

What is your secret talent?

I can walk on my hands.

What is your partner’s secret talent?

She can sing. Really well. She sings in the worship band at our church.

When is your birthday?

July 30, 1982

When is your partner’s birthday?

July 22, 1988

What bad habit annoys you the most?

Well, I wish the laundry was folded all the time and the bed made. But I can help with those so I shouldn’t complain.

What bad habit annoys your partner the most?

I try to fix everything when there is a problem and don’t always just listen to her.

What is the strongest aspect of your relationship?

Frankly I think it is shared values. We really share the same set of values on so many things from our faith to finances. Also, we have kids together so that helps.

Mrs. Rosinbum’s Responses

How long have you been together?

In March, we will have been married for 5 years but together a total of 6 years.

How did you meet?

We first officially met at an MRHS FCA meeting.

What was your first date?

We went mini golfing and then out to dinner afterwards.

What is your favorite band?

I don’t really have one specific favorite band.

What is your partner’s favorite band?

I don’t think he really has a favorite band either.

What is your secret talent?

I don’t really have any!

What is your partner’s secret talent?

He can hold a handstand for a while/walk on his hands

What bad habit annoys you the most?

Chewing with an open mouth/loud chewing. Thankfully, my husband doesn’t do that!! 🙂

He’s a pretty level headed guy…. even if something annoys him, he doesn’t show it!

What is the strongest aspect of your relationship?

We are each other’s biggest fans and strongest supporters. We balance each other out and make a great team!
