On January 28th, students and teachers who have use Verizon as their cell phone carrier will no longer receive Remind notifications via text message. After a new Verizon messaging fee increased the cost of text messages for Remind by 11 times, Remind has been forced to end the texting support for those customers. This means that anyone who was previously being informed through their texts will not receive any information sent out. Remind has been working with Verizon to reverse this fee, but has since turned to the internet through the hashtag #ReverseTheFee to help both raise awareness and express their unhappiness. The only way for students to receive their messages is to either download the app or sign up for email notifications.
