Halloween Costumes Through the Years

Halloween Costumes a lot of the time are based around popular movies and TV shows. This has been consistent almost every year, and although the trends change, the themes and inspirations are the same.

2001: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” came out. Harry Potter themed outfits were the most popular for that year, including Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.

2002: “Spiderman” was released in May of 2002, making Spiderman the most popular costume for kids.

2003: The next year, “Pirates of the Caribbean” was popular, and its main character, Captain Jack Sparrow, was a favorite for all the trick or treaters.

2004: Spiderman was again the top pick of this year, as the second movie of “Spiderman” starring Toby Maguire came out.

2017: The most popular costumes were based off of “Wonder Woman,” “Suicide Squad,” and “Stranger Things” characters, all of which are high ranking and trending films. Lots of Harley Quinns, Elevens, and Wonder Women were walking around the streets last year.
