Mountain Ridge High School’s Theater department is putting on their fall play Letters to Sala.

They’ve been working on the show since the start of the year and have put their heart and soul into this show. Letters to Sala chronicles the story of Sala Garncarz, a young woman in the Holocaust, who keeps her friends and family alive through letters. Simultaneously, Sala from the present and her family, decide how to keep those letters, whether to keep them private, or share them with the world.

Areti Karandreas, junior, plays the role of Young Sala in the performance.

“The process has been emotional, and very life changing. To put myself in the shoes of this wonderful woman, and to be surrounded by such talented and lovely people, has been amazing. I’m incredibly nervous, but so excited to share her story, and do her justice. People should see this show because it’s a monumental, it’s something this department has never quite done. We’ve worked so hard, and we need to keep Sala’s story alive,” said Karandreas

The show runs from November 1st-10th on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00, with an additional matinee on Saturday the 3rd at 1:00.
