Band to Look Out For: The Aces
November 14, 2018
On October 11, I went to a 5 Seconds of Summer concert and heard that a band called the Aces would be the warm-up band. I had never heard of them before, so when the band got up on stage, I was, to say the least, very surprised. On stage was an all-female band rocking out to extremely catchy songs with 80s-embedded guitar pop. Everything about them felt so cool, and their music suited their image well. Everything from their attitude to their looks to their music was mind-blowing, and listening to their songs made me feel like I could conquer the world.
The band consists of guitarist Katie Henderson, bassist McKenna Petty and the sisters Cristal Ramirez (guitarist and lead vocalist) and Aliza Ramirez (drums). They’re all from Provo, Utah and formed the band when they were around eight years old.
When I got home from the concert, I ended up listening to more of their songs, than 5sos. They have just released their debut album “When My Heart Felt Volcanic” and it is definitely worth checking out.
