BSU (Black Student Union) is Back for This Year
“What Does the BSU Have in Store for Ridge This Year?”
On the 22nd of October, Ridge’s Black Student Union (BSU) club had their first meeting of the 2020-2021 school year.
The club was hosted by Ridge seniors Nyalee Diaz and Imani Ralph who’re both interested in offering support for the club after their respective graduations. All of the club members are interested in creating shirts, future Ted-Talk like sessions and various other ways to connect with the community.
From giving back to the black community, and offering representation at Ridge, the BSU has a lot to offer for all students willing to get involved.
Both club leaders are interested in fundraising sessions second semester, under the circumstances that more members come back to campus in the spring. Such sessions are proposed to include water bottle sales and the like, the profits of which will likely be used to support both the BSU and the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.
NOTE: Any interested Ridge student is encouraged to join; you do not have to be black/African-American in order to join the club.
