Dig PINK Event
October 4, 2021
DECA and Women’s Volleyball will be hosting a game here at Mountain Ridge to honor breast cancer survivors.
The Volleyball girls kindly dedicate a game every year to continue bringing awareness and raise money for breast cancer research. They put this night together once every October so that one another may unite and remember the fights that took place to beat this evil disease.
Mrs. Moore, our school’s DECA sponsor, holds this event very close to her heart through her best friend, Carol Chase, who passed away after receiving Breast Cancer for her third time.
“She was very brave and fought hard”, but that, “…the third time, it just got her,” Moore said.
Throughout the day, it is suggested that anyone participating in the event should dress in Pink to support our fellow Breast Cancer survivors. Teachers participating in the pink frenzy will be allowed to wear jeans as well.
The Varsity Volleyball game will start at 6PM, truly beginning this night full of love and support. Donations will be highly encouraged through donation jars that will be set up at the Dig PINK Event. Money put in the donation jars will be put towards finding a cure to breast cancer.
Mrs. Moore says that this event will help to, “… create awareness particularly for young women, to make sure that they’re having good breast care, Mammograms, and that they are aware of their risk.”
Come out and encourage our volleyball teams on Tuesday, October 5th! Hope to see you there!
