The Mountain Ridge Varsity wrestling team lost 39-42 to Tolleson High School on Wednesday the 11th in a close fought battle.

The match even had an interesting coincidence, “We had a fun battle between 2 sets of twins. Our sophomore twins wrestled their senior twins in back to back matches,” Whitten tells us. “We won one and they won one.”   

The team won 7 matches, Ethan Whitten, Noah Cannoe, Austin Kilby, Aby Sanchez, Cash Reiser, Robert Bast, and Brady Tolliver. The 3 girls also won matches, Harlee Mendoza, Molly Rigdon won twice, and Danica Smith. 

Coach Whitten says, “We are working on learning to battle in tough matches. Find ways to win.”
