As the lineup of flavors at Swig is always exciting, prepare to be amazed by their signature concoctions. Want a sneak peek at some of their most popular drinks?! Texas Tab is their most popular drink. It is made with Dr Pepper, Vanilla, and Coconut Cream. Sounds like an interesting combination, but it’s definitely worth the hype. If you’re looking for a more breezy drink, then I would recommend trying Strawberry Breeze. It is made with water, sugar free coconut, sugar free vanilla, strawberry puree, frozen strawberry, and coconut cream. One of my favorites is the Hula Girl. If you’re looking for a more colorful, refreshing and fruity taste, then this should definitely be on your list to try. It is made up of Sprite, lemonade, mango, pineapple, strawberry, and coconut cream.
However, it’s not just their drinks that are delicious, so are their snacks. One of their snacks is the Salted and White Cheddar Pretzel Bites. They serve both of them warm, and are the perfect delight when you’re feeling under the weather. Feeling something sweet?! Try their Lemon Poppyseed cookies. The cookies are soft and buttery with a lemony tinge and a drizzle of lemon poppyseed glaze. The cookies strike the perfect balance between tangy and sweet, making it perfection in a cup.
Besides the amazing flavors and the unique drinks that they deliver, there are a few drawbacks. Swig is a drive-through, which also means that you and your friends cannot hangout in a cozy atmosphere while enjoying your drinks. A warm and cheerful interior would perfectly complement the delicious flavors of the drinks. A local customer at Swig and a Ridge parent, Terri Paradis agrees as she says, “What I thought was a soda pop stand, made me think more nostalgic. Like in the 40’s or 50’s, where I could do in and sit down to enjoy my drink. But it was only a drive-through which let me down.”
As a result of their new opening in Peoria, the lines at the drive-throughs are unhurried and long. Abigail, a freshman at MRHS, says, “The order of the place hasn’t gotten adjusted yet, because it’s a new opening. They’re unable to completely manage the crowd that is eager to try their drinks.”
All of you soda lovers must know that the fizz of the soda doesn’t last forever. At one point, all you’re left with is a flavored sugar drink. Of course, before all the bubbliness of the drink vanishes, it is magic in a cup.
