You heard it right! The one and only Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are officially engaged! After having been together for a total of two years, Travis proposed in a rather “gorgeous” environment of lush flowers and gardens. The past two weeks have been HUGE for Swifties all around the world, regarding Taylor’s announcement of TS12 (The Life of a Showgirl) and their engagement? It’s safe to say that Taylor fans everywhere are ecstatic. With Taylor’s Instagram post gaining so much traction on the internet, People Magazine even referred to the news as “The proposal heard around the world.” After all, our lover girl is finally getting married.
Many fans have pointed out that while the engagement photos were beautiful and poetic in such a Taylor kind of fashion, they also looked remarkably similar to those of her “Lover” albums photoshoot. Was this on purpose? Nobody knows, but they looked straight out of a fairytale. While the location of their engagement photos remains undisclosed, It was a beautiful and fluorescent scenery, full of flowers and trees— The perfect proposal for the perfect “Love Story.”
The two announced their engagement post with a record breaking caption— ie; “Your english teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” If that doesn’t scream “TAYLOR SWIFT!!” in the best possible way, I’m not sure what does.
Of course, with celebrity engagements also come celebrity congratulations. In the two days following the engagement, Taylor’s long term best friend, Selena Gomez, shared an instagram story with photos from the engagement and a humorous caption of “When bestie gets engaged.” Right there beside Selena is Charlie Puth, who Taylor famously name-dropped in her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” he responded to the engagement with “Congratulations Taylor and Travis! This is the best part of life. So happy for both of you!” Even Avril Lavigne, Taylor Lautner, and Chef Gordon Ramsey have reached out to give their congratulations.
With Taylor’s recent titles “So High School” and “The Alchemy” along with the lyrics to both- “I feel so high school, every time I look at you, look at you!” and “Cause the sign on your heart/ Said it’s still reserved for me/ Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?” We can only assume that she is incredibly happy in this relationship, and their engagement proves that. Somebody up there really did change the prophecy, and I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we are immensely proud of our girl. We wish them only the best in their upcoming nuptials.
