“How to spend Valentines Day: Single Edition”

Isabella Montoya, Staff Writer

Wear your mask everybody, love is in the air! It’s that time of year again when couples make every person on the planet who isn’t in a relationship feel sick to their stomach. Many people get discouraged by the feeling of being alone on Valentine’s Day, but there are some great things that come from being ‘independent’ on Valentine’s Day. Here are some things you can do to get yourself in a good mood, come the 14th.

1. Buy flowers, for yourself! Who doesn’t love flowers? It may seem cheesy to some, but flowers are a great thing to give yourself. They look magnificent all around your house and smell fantastic. A fun thing to do, if you don’t wanna keep the flowers, is to hand them out to strangers. Can you imagine how they would react if a complete stranger came up to them and handed them a beautiful flower? It would make their day 100 times better. Flowers are guaranteed to make your day.

2. Stuff your face with chocolate. I’m talking to all of you who have a sweet tooth. Chocolate is the easiest way to others’ and your own heart. Even though chocolate causes most people to get terrible acne, who cares. It’s not like you have to look good for anyone. Just go to your nearest grocery store, buy all the chocolate your lonely heart desires, and eat it all in your car while listening to sad music.

3. Make plans with friends. Since you have no one to spend your day with, you might as well hang out with your friends. You could go out for a nice dinner or have a chill night and lounge on the couch. What’s better than spending time with the people you care about most. Even though you don’t have a special someone to spend the national day of love with, you can at least spend time with your homies.

All in all, It’s totally okay to be single on Valentine’s day. It may seem kind of disappointing, but you should always make the best of all situations. You can make the most out of this upcoming holiday by doing what makes you happy.
