The Library Advisory Council has decorated the Media Center/library for Valentine’s Day, and has reinstituted their ‘Blind Date with a Book’ event for a second year. The event capitalizes on Valentine’s Day, creating ‘blind dates’ through books the Media Center already has!
Find yourself a book on the front table, which will be eye-catching with a colorful tablecloth. The books themselves are wrapped in holiday-themed wrapping paper, their titles hidden from view to make this date truly ‘blind’. However, there are descriptions attached to the book to give a few clues: genre, a general synopsis, etc.
This event is a way to truly bring the school together through the love of reading. It encourages people to explore different genres and spend time outside of their comfort zone. Also, many Black authors will be highlighted, since February is also Black History Month. So make your way to the library for a blind date with a book! You never know—you may have a new favorite book.
