Mountain Ridge hosted the Southwest Regional Auditions on January 27th and 28th.

Band director Mr. Vogel said he is, “very happy with the results.” In total, forty six students from Mountain Ridge made the All-Region Band and Orchestra along with three students as alternates. Ridge holds the highest number of students accepted compared to other schools.

The last few years MRHS has hosted these auditions. “We have a great campus for the event, and a large volunteer team that can run an event of this size,” said Vogel.

The Arizona Music Educators Association (AMEA) holds auditions every year in January for membership in the All-Region Honor Band, Orchestra, and Choir. There are 8 regions in the state of Arizona. Mountain Ridge students were assigned to the Southwest Region.

The upcoming All-Region Festival will be held in Tempe at McClintock High School on February 17th and 18th. Students from all of the 8 regions can then audition for the All-State Band, Orchestra, and Choir.
