It states that “93% of youth said that kindness helped them move forward in the past year”. Student Kale DeLeon said, “It helped bring up my day and put a smile on my face.” I was inspired to write this article because kindness is incredibly important, and treating everyone with compassion can have an effect. It is not just about being “nice;” it is an intentional choice to show compassion. Kindness could help someone through their hardest times. We can show kindness by simply talking to someone and asking how they’re doing, or checking on people to show you care. We never know what others are going through or what they are facing, but showing kindness can express love and show that you care. Kindness can strengthen positive relationships and improve mental and physical health. Achiever Magazine says, “Schools that emphasize kindness often see a decrease in negative behaviors and an increase in student engagement.”
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change,” It’s important to recognize that even if you don’t view kindness as essential, someone does; even the smallest gestures can truly make a difference in someone’s life, often in ways you may not even notice. Your kindness has the power to uplift others, and every little act counts.
Taking the time to show kindness truly matters in others’ lives and has such a powerful effect on others and ourselves. Simple acts, such as a smile, a compliment, or offering help, can have significance on those around you. Kindness has helped me in many ways, and I have found strength in kindness. It can bring meaningful change to someone and help people get through hard times. You should always try to be the best version of yourself and show kindness to others, even when it’s challenging. By doing so, as you grow, the world around you does too. Change begins with you, and your actions can inspire others to make the world a better place. It’s important to embrace change and encourage others to follow, and uplift someone’s spirits. Embrace kindness towards others, even when it’s difficult. Everyone’s fighting their own battles. A little kindness really goes a long way.
