Ladies and gents, it’s the moment we have all been waiting for! The release of Wicked: For Good is finally upon us! After its long awaited arrival on November 21, 2025, Wicked Part Two has left fans wailing, weeping, and wildly swooning in theatres scattered all across the globe. Swooning over whom, you may ask? Well, co-stars Ariana Grande and Cythia Erivo of course! (a.k.a Glinda and Elphaba). Because who wouldn’t absolutely fall head over heels in love with the beautiful blend that is Cynthia and Ariana’s voices?
But first…a backstory. Wicked: For Good picks up right where Wicked Part 1 left off, continuing the story of Elphaba and Glinda after the events that changed both of their lives for good. As tensions rise and choices they made in the first movie begin to take their toll, the all new sequel brings light to their new lives after finishing school at Shiz, where Glinda is the perfect picture of good, and Elphaba is only known as “The Wicked Witch of the West.” This film explores the consequences of loyalty and power while deepening the story rather than simply extending it.
When I first went to the theatre to see Wicked: For Good, (yes, I went twice), I was more than ready for it. After listening to the soundtrack more times than I can count, it was finally time for me to see what actually happens on screen while they sing those groundbreaking notes. As the lights dimmed, and the music started playing, it was as if the theatre faded away, and the world of Oz began to rise up around me. From the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, it all felt impossibly vivid. Everything was glittering and glowing larger than life.
The opening song, Every Day More Wicked (feat. Michelle Yeoh & Ariana Grande) perfectly sets the tone for the entire film. Mirroring the familiar tune No One Mourns The Wicked from the first movie’s opening number, the song feels both nostalgic and newly elevated as it brings us right back to the moment we heard the first one. But you can’t have a musical without dancing! So let’s not forget about it. The choreographers blew me away! The choreography being as sharp and theatrical as it is, with its sweeping movements and precise staging, it makes the scene feel so much more grand, without making it seem like too much. Visually, the setting is vibrant and breathtaking, but paired with the elegant costuming and powerful camera work? Oh, this movie is unbeatable. From the second the music starts in the beginning, to the moment it stops in the end, Wicked: For Good makes it quite clear that it understands its roots and expands upon them remarkably.
Alongside the dynamic choreography and the phenomenal camera work, a true musical needs music, and this movie did not disappoint. With just 11 tracks on the album, the film proves that quality matters far more than quantity, delivering songs that leave a lasting impression on fans, including me. This makes it so much more clear as to why Wicked: For Good has grossed over $460 million worldwide as of December of 2025. Each musical number builds off of one-another with harmonies that linger long after the screen fades. With Cynthia and Ariana’s voices blending like cinnamon and honey, the film’s music feels both powerful and intimate, striking a balance that only few movie musicals have achieved in my eyes.
Wicked: For Good is nothing short of phenomenal. From its breathtaking visuals, to its emotionally beautiful performances, the film delivers on every promise it makes. This is truly a movie that will make you laugh, cry, and sit in silence for a while when it’s over. Though whether you are a long-term fan of Wicked, or just stepping onto the yellow brick road for the first time, For Good is absolutely unimaginably perfect, and entirely worth the 2 hr. and 17 min. watch. Simply put, I have no notes.
