10 Songs That Will Make Driving a Heck of A lot Better

Road trip! Finally, get away to the lovely city of San Diego (or some other wondrous fair-breeze destination). You pack your favorite swimsuits, beach toys, and towels and you’re ready to get to the beach… now! You take your baggage out to the car and you hop in the driver’s seat. As you approach the freeway, you realize that you’re gonna be there for the next 6 hours. “Darn” you think to yourself.

Driving doesn’t have to be a boring thing though. Instead of thinking “darn” you will be thinking “hurray” with these 10 songs to get you through your drive. I know what you’re thinking, “only 10 songs?” and yes, you’re right. Only ten songs. So enjoy the hour of fun out of the 6 with these songs!

“Dirt Road Anthem” by Jason Aldean

“Dirt Road Anthem” will get your heart on the road. This song is about driving on a dirt road. What a perfect song for a long drive! It’s repetitive and easy to learn. This is one of the greatest country songs out there. Personally, I am a big fan of country music, but my sister isn’t. Though she isn’t a fan, she loves this song! This is definitely a fun song for a road trip.

“All the Small Things” by Blink-182

Time for a rock party. Blink-182 is known for their pop punk music, which is super great for a good jam session. It starts with the electric guitar and the drums breaking out and then goes into the song. This is a great wake up song in case you’re about to fall asleep. It’s a great song that will get the whole car bobbing their heads.

“July” by Noah Cyrus

Time to get your phone light on and waving with this sweet acoustic guitar melody. “July” is a simple song that will take your headache away with Cyrus’ beautiful voice. If your backseat folks are driving you nuts, turn this on and it will ease their mind. Don’t get too relaxed though, you still got to make it there!

“Thunderstruck” by AC/DC

Rock party number 2! The guitar solo in the beginning of the song is straight fire. Do you want to feel like a complete boss driving? Add this song to your playlist. You’ll feel like you can do anything with this loud and crazy song. I know I speed when a good rock song comes on, so please watch how fast you’re going. You’re going to have to explain to the cops that you were going 20 miles over the speed limit because the song touched your soul.

“Falling” Harry Styles

Here’s a song that will get you in your feelings! You can pretend you’re the main character of a dramatic romance movie with the sad lyrics. Harry Styles does an amazing job of singing the emotion into the song. You can hear his heart through the lyrics and tone of the song. This melody is another relaxing song to relieve stress.

“Sweet Child O’Mine” by Guns N’ Roses

Ahh the classic Guns N’ Roses song “Sweet Child O’Mine” that everyone should know. If you don’t know it you probably grew up under a rock. Anyways, this is a great throwback song that will take you straight to 1987. The iconic guitar solo in the beginning will get everyone in the car excited, and if you’re alone, you will be jumping in your seat.

“Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line

“Cruise” is a great country song that will make your drive worthwhile. It begins right away with the chorus which will pump your heart! This song is another great song about driving, but this one is about a girl. If you’re a man, and you’re taking your lady on a trip, sing this to her. Wow, two benefits in one song; it’s great to sing, and win the ladies hearts!

“You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC

Another AC/DC song!? Yes! You can never go wrong with this band. Their fun style of music will keep your head up and your eyes on the road. AC/DC always has great songs, and this one includes another great guitar and drums intro. Being a rock band, they always make classic set ups and driving rhythms.

“Cover Me Up” by Morgan Wallen

Morgan Wallen is a well known country singer and songwriter. His music is amazing. “Cover Me Up” is a slower love song that is very sweet and the words will distract you from the hours you have to drive. This song will make you want to set up a nice warm fire on a cold winter day with your loved ones. You can always pretend in the car!

“To Be So Lonely” by Harry Styles

This song begins with a fun beachy guitar melody. It’s an acoustic song that will put a smile on your face with the fun background music and creative words. It may bring you back to a time when you fell in love and it didn’t quite work out. That sounds sad, but the song is very fun and will get you dancing a bit in your chair.

Now that you’ve been given 10 glorious songs, stop complaining. You’re going to get to your destination soon, it’s ok! Think of how lucky you are to be driving. Whether it’s for work, school, a vacation, you’re lucky to have the time on the road. Use it as an escape from the world or a time for yourself to jam out to some new music, or your favorite songs. Remember to be safe, and have fun! Enjoy these wonderful songs!
